The MTA indoor championships took place on March 21st and 22nd marking Boardwalks third trip to the dance.
Boardwalk continued it's impressive showing at the track and cemented it's reputation as one of the top middle distance clubs in the province with it's showing of the 400m, 800m, 1200m, and 1500m. In the Tyke 800m Boardwalk was able to replicate last years success and produce a Provincial Champion, Charlie Pilz placed first in an exceptional time of 2:43:37 and standing there on the podium beside him was Charlie Mills who ran to a personal best time of 2:49:40, improving on his 5th place at last years meet. Boardwalk also secured a few more medals as Charlie Pilz ran the 400m in personal best time of 1:13.33 capturing a silver medal in the process. Also earning personal bests and 7th place was Sebastian McIsaac in a time of 1:21.94. And in 9th place Charlie Mills in 1:23.03. Mills, who competed in three events at this years meet and the 2014 Provincial Champion in the 1500m, was able to earn a bronze medal in the shorter 1200m event in a time of 4:21.91. Representing Boardwalk RC in the Atom competitions was Fiona Pavlovska, Domenic Temple and Charlotte Melnyck. Pavlovska stepped up to the line of the 1500m for the second time in her career and was able to earn her first bronze medal at a Championship meet in a time of 5:36.65. Temple competed in two Atom events, the 800m and 1500m. In a strong field of 22 (800m) and 15 (1500m) runners, his times were 2:40.88 and 5:27.26 respectively. Melnyck sprinted her way to a personal best time of 11.64. In Mite action, Chloe Pilz, ran her first track race trying emulate her brother Charlie by choosing the 400m race and was able to chase the older Mites twice around the 200m track in a great 6th place time of 1:35.08. Next up for the Boardwalk crew is the Spring Sprint on April 11 and preparing for the outdoor track season.
