Boardwalk's indoor season came to an end this past weekend during the David McKendrick MTA Provincial Championships at York University. We had 19 athletes participate this year. Green and gold dominated the track events. The weekend began with indoor track "first-timers" Alexandra Mills and James Yates, who competed in the Tykes 1200m. Grace and Henry Thomson, two of youngest athletes also competed this weekend. Grace competed in the Peewee 60m and Henry competed in the Mite 60mh and 200m. Along for the ride were some of our seasoned athletes as well, Charlie Mills took his 1500m down to a time of 5:04.58 which garnered him a silver medal. Tyke 400m runner, Chloe Pilz, also medalled with 1:18.53 and secured a 3rd place finish. See results for all our athletes below. Boardwalk sent two bantams and a midget to compete in the AO Indoor Championships. Lucy Carpenter and Dominic Temple ran the 1200m. Aaron Walker ran in three events the 60m, 300m and 200m. Lucy ran her way to a medal in her first bantam 1200m. Her time of 3:57.96 was good for third place and a bronze medal. She was two seconds back from silver medalist Rianna Smuk and three seconds back from gold medalist Aysia Maurice. Lucy continues to improve and will be looking to challenge both runners again in the near future at the MTA Indoor Championships. In other events that Boardwalk athletes competed in, Dominic ran a 3:34.93 in the midget 1200m placing 30th. Aaron's first event was the 60m which he ran in 8.24 barely missing out on qualifying for the semis. His second event, the 300m with a time 42.15 was good for 12th place. Aaron's final event was the 200m with a time of 26.50 placing him 18th out of 30. Dominic will compete in the upcoming MTA Indoor Championships and this completes Aaron's indoor season.
