The cross country season is in full swing. So far the Boardwalk crew has travelled to Pickering and Albion Hills for club meets, and is looking forward to competing in Burlington and Etobicoke in the next few weeks. And when you include their busy school competition schedule the kilometres really add up.
The kids have been competing well for club and school. Highlights would include a win for Grace in the Durham Dragons meet, a Tyke girls team silver at the same meet; 23 athletes and parents competing in the Don Olson Classic in Albion Hills, with many age group winners taking home Nike prizes, and followed by a big team barbecue in the park. School meets have been just as eventful with Boardwalk athletes finishing in top places and qualifying for conference finals, which take place this Friday. Amongst the winners at the school races were: Grade 4 Chloe P., Cole H. Grade 6 Jamie P., Judah M. Grade 7 Evan C. Grade 8 Lucy C., Simon G. and runner-ups Grade 4 Alexandra M., Grade 5 Xavier B. and Grade 7 Charlie M. A total of 23 Boardwalk athletes qualified and will compete on Friday. Stay tuned for future results. Upcoming races: TDSB elem.
