The TDSB City Final took place on June 9th at Birchmount Stadium. Five Boardwalk RC athletes had run well through qualifying meets and were now poised to make there mark on the City Final. Distance Runners Charlie Mills and Dominic Temple contested the 1500m; Charlie Mills and Charlie Pilz were strong favourites in the 800m; Charlie Pilz was also a contender in the 400m; Calvin Warrillow was a top contender in the 200m; and James Edgar was looking to continue his medal winning ways again this year in the 80m Hurdles.
James Edgar won Bronze in the Grade 7 80m hurdles in a time of 12.29. Calvin was off his game in the 200m, running 33.89 and placing 16th. Charlie Pilz won Silver by way of photo finish in the 400m in 1:10.21, (.03 from 1st) Charlie Pilz won a second Silver in the 800m a time of 2:40.37 and was followed by his teammate Charlie Mills who won Bronze in 2:44.14. Charlie Mills won a second Bronze in the 1500m, a time of 5:18.13 (which was faster then the previous city record), he led most of the race, and set the pace with his friend Kinnon Ringler of the Etobicoke Track Club who won Silver.
