Last year team Semes walked away with the coveted Al Baigent Pre-Memorial Spring Sprint Trophy (read last years post). But in this years edition the teams were evenly matched, and results would come down to the few racers that no one could predict a 5k time for.
In the end it was team Duff that hoisted the trophy. They won by the slimmest of margins. Amazingly, it was 8 seconds that separated these two teams after each teams top 9 runners had their times added together. Highlights: Boardwalk RC had 20 runners at the event. 8 runners went faster then 20 minutes. The top time was posted by Dave Corlett 17:32. Two of our 10 year olds ran under 20 minutes, Charlie Mills 19:36 and Charlie Pilz 19:48. Two of the young runners ran both the 5k and the 2k, they finished 3rd (Dominic) and 7th (Charlie M.). The photo above is Dominic Temple sprinting for Bronze in the 2k after running a 21:16 in the 5k.
