Mixing it up at the Conference Finals

5 of the Grade 6 boys from Boardwalk that qualified for the City Championships

Boardwalk athletes continue to impress as the season goes on.

With 34 Boardwalk athletes qualified for the Conference Final from the first round, and with qualification for the City Finals made more difficult by both the elevated competition and the stiffer qualification standards, how many could qualify for the City Final?

Well the answer is an impressive 29! All 29 were top 30 finishers in the Conference Final. In fact 23 athletes finished in the top 20; 15 in the top 10 and 9 in the top 3!

Congrats to Alexandra Mills and Jamie Parkin on becoming South Conference Champions. The strongest competition Boardwalk athletes faced was sometimes their own club teammates. In both grade 6 and 7 boys and girls Boardwalk qualified between 4 to 6 athletes in each race. In the grade 6 boys race, 5 of the athletes were in the top 11!

The TDSB City Final will be exciting to watch. The grade 6 and 7 races should not be missed for fans of Boardwalk. 

Also in the TDCSB Conference Final, another one of our grade 6 boys is showing just how strong that group is. Ty Machado cruised to victory, and has his sights set on becoming a City Champion.
