It was back to Etobicoke on the weekend. This time representing the club. The day began with our youngest athlete setting the tone. Evelyn Thomson raced her way to her first Provincial Championship at the age of 6, in the PeeWee division. She was joined in earning a plaque by her big sister Grace Thomson; Grace ran a close race and finished only 3 seconds away from 1st earning a 2nd place plaque for her efforts in the Mite race. Newcomer Issac Veale finished 4th in his first club race. As a team the Tyke girls Ella Bretzler, Isabelle Srdoc-Walsh, Ruby Mathers-McHenry and Autumn Broughton finished 6th, led by Ella’s 9th place finish. On the boys side, Jack Broughton and Liam Greenley placed 14th and 17th respectfully. In Atom Girls, the team of Alexandra Mills (14th), Natsuki Iwano-Rivers (18th), Eleanor Chapman (47th), Madeline Chapman (50th), Chloe Pilz (51st), and Sabine Parkin (69th) finished 5th of 13 teams in the province. The Atom Boys brought home silver medals as a team, finishing 2nd out of 10 teams. They were led by William Scharf’s 9th place, Xavier Bird’s 13th place and Ty Machado’s 21st place. The rest of the team finished well with Aengus Adams (22nd), Finn Veale (28th) and James Yates (33rd) all finishing in the top half of the 73 competitors. The Senior category had Charlie Mills finish with a 7th place against much of the competition he will see at OFSAA, along with Jamie Parkin (16th) and Connor McInnis (49th) racing the older kids to see how they faired. They finished as the 4th place team of 7 on the day.
