Spring Sprint

The annual Team Duff vs Team Semes showdown took place along the boardwalk in the beach. This was the 29th instalment of the spring sprint.

Last year Team Duff hoisted the trophy. They won by the slimmest of margins. Amazingly, it was 8 seconds that separated these two teams after each teams top 9 runners had their times added together.

This year there was nothing close about it. Team Semes exacted revenge, and won by over 9 minutes despite the efforts of the fastest Boardwalk runner of the day Clarence Hung, 17:23.

Highlights: Boardwalk RC had 24 runners at the event. 9 runners went faster then 20 minutes. The top time was posted by Clarence Hung 17:23. Three of our 13 year old and younger group ran under 20 minutes, Charlie Mills (11yrold) 19:00 and Jackson McQuade (11yrold) 19:15. In the 2k kids race, Fiona Pavlovska (13 and under) won the race in 7:18, with Kalsia (13 and under) 5th in 7:43 and young Chloe Pilz (7-9 category) finished 2nd in her age and Alexandra Mills (7-9 category) old finished 4th in the same category.
