Beaches Sprint Sprint

The annual Team Duff vs Team Semes showdown took place along the boardwalk today during the 30th instalment of the Beaches Spring Sprint.  Team Semes took the prize home again this year, winning by a mere 2 minutes unlike their crushing win last year where they won by 9 minutes.

Weather reports were predicting cold and rain but the weather gods decided to save the rain, and instead graced us with overcast skies and a balmy 11 degrees.  Our athlete's did not disappoint.  We had many youth and masters runners picking up hardware at the end of the race placing in their age categories.  A great day as always!  Looking forward to the 31st annual Beaches Sprint Sprint.  Hope to see you there!

Highlights: Boardwalk RC had 26 runners at the event. 7 runners went faster then 20 minutes. The top 5k time was 17:42 by Dave Corlett.  The top 2k time was 7:33 by Charlie Pilz. Our youngest competitor was 6 year old Grace Thomson who ran 2k in 12:18.
